      Good question!
      Engineering is really a broad subject – there are all sorts of engineers out there (as this online chat demonstrates!!). Some of my colleagues in aerospace engineering have studied chemistry, biology and even fashion design! It’s about bringing together people with different skills and knowledge to solve real every-day problems.
      I guess, the three main reasons why I enjoy engineering are:
      1) solving real problems that can improve the world;
      2) learning something new every day;
      3) working with some really intelligent and dedicated people.
      Sometimes, my work can seem a bit tedious, going through lots of equations and computer models, but I like to think that in the end my research will lead to better, cleaner aircraft in the future.

      Hi!
      I enjoy some engineering – the crazy ideas and working out what to do with them. Sadly there’s also a fair bit of admin, spreadsheets and justifying budgets…
      Engineering links to everything. There are so many types – mechanical (cars), electronic (computers), audio (soundsystems), software (games)… It’s probably harder to fund something engineering doesn’t link to than does!
